Butterflies
The important thing about a butterfly is that it flies.
It soars and glides, it flutters and flaps.
It feels like a delicate flower.
It looks like an artist’s pallet.
It naps on a flower.
It dances all day.
But the important thing about a butterfly is that it flies.
Smells like lilacs blooming like a brand new butterfly.
Sounds like bees buzzing and birds chirping.
Tastes like strawberry lemonade in a dripping, icy glass.
Feels like delicate, green grass at the tip of your toes.
Looks like rainbow colored bouquets emerging from the land.
Snow Princess
Purple and silver ribbons,
wave through the snowy morning
like a winter kite in mid flight.
White, shimmering Disney sculptures,
and flowers tied into elegant bouquets.
Purple and silver everywhere.
The Snow Princess walks down the isle.
Her curls and dress glimmer like a thousand fireflies.
A tear trickles down my cheek.
How can one be so happy and sad,
all at once?
I now have a new family.
The reception commenced.
Food as beautiful as a chef’s garden,
music like trees swaying in a summer breeze.
Conversations as buzzing bees.
The family both happy and sad_
like me.
My friends the same.
But the love_
so powerful.

Snow
Tiny frozen droplets,
come falling down.
If you watch them real close,
they descend into the town.
What lovely ice crystals
as they fall from the sky.
All in God’s image,
as they tumble and fly.
Winter

Summer
Six-grader Beth is stumped because she had to think of a complement for every student in the class. You would think it’s easy, but you haven’t met Imogeune Herdmen. Leroy, Ollie, Imogeune and Gladys Herdmen were the worst kids in school. They smoked cigars, said bad words and pushed others around. If there was a Herdmen in the room, you would want to avoid them.
The Herdmens were banned from almost every place in town. They have stolen everything in town, including Louella’s baby brother, Harold. They sometimes didn’t go to school at all.The teachers loved those days, and so do the students. Imogeune would be the hardest to complement. Beth had come up with one complement, but because of an activity change, she now has to come up with many for Imogeune. Will Beth be able to come up with more than 1 complement? What will happen if she can’t? Read the book to find out.
Ocean Blue
Azure blue sky view,
Turquoise as the ocean blue
Floating fluffy clouds.
Many people do not know the difference between crocodiles and alligators. They might look the same, but they are different. Would you like to learn the difference?
The crocodile and alligator are the largest living reptiles. They also are close to dinosaurs. They have similar habitats.
Crocodiles have pointed snouts. Alligators usually only live in America and China on the other hand, crocodiles live in many places around the world. In contrast, alligators are heavier then crocodiles.
Overall, they are both very interesting. At first I didn’t like them, but now they are really awesome! I am glad I got to learn about them both!
I love kiwis and strawberries! They taste fantastic in Spring! They might seem the same, but they have a lot of differences.
The kiwi and the strawberry are very alike. The kiwi and the strawberry both have seeds. The seeds are editable. They are both fruits.
The kiwi and the strawberry have some differences. They definately taste different. The kiwi is so sweet it makes the strawberry taste almost bitter. The strawberry is reddish pink and the kiwi is green.
I like the taste of both and they taste divine! I’m glad I tried them both!
